About

The Lord once said through the prophet Jeremiah:

“Stand by the roads, and look,
and ask for the ancient paths,
where the good way is; and walk in it,
and find rest for your souls (Jeremiah 6:16).”

The “ancient paths” the Lord had in mind were those he himself had marked out for his people in his Word. Obediently following the voice of God in the Scriptures is the only only way that leads to life and rest. Centuries after Jeremiah spoke these words, the Lord Jesus stood and said:

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30).”

The Son of God calls his people to “the good way” that leads to a better country, the true home we were made for. Jesus himself walked the ancient paths of trust and obedience to his Father on our behalf, and now he leads us down those same trusted trails. On this blog, I want to search out these “ancient paths,” through studying the Scriptures as well as by looking to those saints who have already walked this good way in years past.
