The Joyful Inner-Life of the Trinity

“Take all the happiest experiences of your life: when your girlfriend said ‘yes’ to your proposal of marriage; your wedding day; the birth of your first child; when your 5-year old make s a convincing profession of faith in Jesus as Savior; when you write a song or a story or paint a picture, or move into a new house, or accomplish something. Take all of it together, I say, and multiply the joy and the thrill of the best things that could happen to us in an entire lifetime, multiply it a million times over, and it will scarcely compare with one brief moment in the beatific life of the Holy Trinity before the world was begun. No, God was not in any way lonely or lacking in his own inner fulfillment in any way whatsoever.”
