What makes the New Covenant so much greater than the Old?

This is the question I attempted to answer in yesterday’s sermon from Jeremiah 31:31-37. From this text, I see at least four ways that the New Covenant relationship far outstrips the Old:

1. In the New Covenant, God transforms our hearts to keep his Law (33)

2. In the New Covenant, every member has a vital, personal relationship with God (34a)

3. In the New Covenant, our relationship rests on God completely forgiving all our sins (34b)

4. In the New Covenant, our relationship with God is eternally secure (35-37)
